We encourage everyone to browse both live and asynchronous virtual activities to select options that you will find most engaging, beneficial and designed to meet your personal social and emotional goals for the day and throughout the school year.

Wellness practitioners at Duke Health and Well-Being are hosting DPS-specific sessions on the 12th to grow your wellness toolbox. Please see the schedule and link, below...

8:00-8:30am: Morning Mindfulness. Start your day with Marissa Holsten (LCSW, MA, MSW), Behavioral Counseling Specialist at Duke Integrative Medicine for a facilitated mindfulness practice.


12:30-1:00pm: Fitness on the Go. Learn how exercise can mitigate stress and practice some easy exercises and stretching you can do during breaks throughout your day. Cheyanne Oakley (BS, SCSM-CPT, GEI), Exercise Physiologist at the Duke Health and Fitness Center leads this session.


1:30-2:00pm: Practical Strategies for Stress Reduction. Join Kathy Murray (LSW, MSW), Clinical Social Worker at Duke Lifestyle and Weight Management Center to learn practical strategies to encourage healthy attitudes towards stress and reduce stress in daily life. Kathy teaches from the Community Resiliency Model, designed to help teachers and other professionals to increase their resilience to stress.
